Bentley and Aston Martin are both learning the mistakes of producing a high-end "exclusive" car in relatively large volumes. Not sure if the 'cheapening' will affect their coming sales or not.

Mistakes benefits* Well to people like us at least. Hate to be that guy who paid in full. Well I'm sure they probably don't care..

I have the same feeling with the Quattroporte, especially the GTS. They keep getting cheaper.

Quattroportes are ridiculous. There's been a sub $30k one near me for sale. I think maybe 2 years already.. No one wants them, even at Camry prices.

Nah, from what I know, a lot of people who buy cars like these are very conscious of depreciation. Rich culture is full of "I'm a self made man! I make smart financial decisions!" they want to be able to say they bought a sexy expensive car, but that they also sold it for what they bought it for. It's about having your cake and eating it too.

I blame it because most wealthy people are rich because of their circumstances and family, so it's a huge self-esteem problem for them if they can't 'make it' on their own.

On the flip side, when it comes to some people the idea is that you have so much disposable income because you produce so much good work and run such a big empire. Those are the guys who don't care about depreciation, but that's more the Ferrari and Lamborghini crowd than the Rolls Royce, Aston Martin, and Bentley Continental crowd.

Depreciation is wonderful.

V8 Vantages, while very beautiful, are painfully slow. I'd say only go for a V12 Aston if you're gonna buy one.

I share your excitement for Astons.

Is it wrong that I want to, well, lick them?

While I do agree, there would be better choices/combination of choices I could get for V12 Vantage money.

I would say it's wrong if you don't want to.

0 to 60 in 5 seconds is far from slow.

The V8 Vantages are the most down to earth Astons to can buy.

I really, really want one of these.

I'll drive it around for ~1000-2000 miles a year. It'll be hard to resist, but that's just enough to keep everything in good working order.

In 20-30 years time, I reckon these are going to rocket in value. Modern-day E-Type for sure.
